Assam Congress MLA Jamal Uddin Ahmed passes on; party diminished to 19 officials

With Ahmed’s downfall, the strength of the resistance Congress in the Assam gathering boiled down to 19. Two sitting MLAs of the gathering had surrendered a month ago and joined the decision Bharatiya Janata Party and another MLA- – previous boss priest Tarun Gogoi- – had died in November.
