Dav Whatmore, who guided Sri Lanka to triumph in the 50-overs World Cup in 1996, has been named lead trainer of Nepal’s public group.
“Dav is incredibly quick to take on this new test, as he firmly trusts Nepal has the extraordinary ability and a splendid future in worldwide cricket,” the Cricket Association of Nepal said in a proclamation on Thursday.
The Colombo-conceived Australian has likewise instructed Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Zimbabwe.
Nepal didn’t fit the bill for the following year’s Twenty20 World Cup in India and Whatmore’s first significant undertaking is to help them arrive at the 2022 version in Australia.
