Kharif food grains creation records 144.52 MN tons in 2020-21


KHARIF CROPS: Foodgrains creation is pegged at a record 144.52 million tons in the 2020-21 Kharif season despite COVID-19 emergency.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Friday. Foodgrain creation remained at 143.38 million tons during the 2019-20 Kharif season, according to legitimate information. As of now, the gathering of Kharif crops is in progress. Rice is the fundamental Kharif crop.

“Foodgrain creation will be superior to a year ago. According to the underlying assessments, foodgrain creation is extended to be 144.52 million tons in the 2020-21 kharif season,” Tomar said tending to an advanced gathering sorted out by industry body CII. Creation of money yields, for example, sugarcane and cotton are additionally expected to be acceptable, he said.
