Rohit Sharma returns after BCCI President Sourav Ganguly says he is harmed

Hours after BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that India opener Rohit Sharma is ‘harmed right now’, the Mumbai Indians chief left in Sharjah Stadium for the side’s last match before the end of the season games against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. (SRH versus MI Live Score, Live Updates)

Safeguarding the selectors’ choice to avoid Rohit with regard to India crew against Australia this month, Ganguly said in a meeting to PTI, “Rohit is harmed right now. Something else, for what reason would we leave out a player like him. He is the bad habit commander of the public (restricted overs) group. We should evaluate him. I don’t have the foggiest idea (when he can return). He hasn’t played so far since the time he has harmed. We need him to recoup. It’s the BCCI’s responsibility to get their best players on the recreation center. On the off chance that he recoups, he plays.”

Rohit missed Mumbai’s last four matches in the wake of enduring a left hamstring physical issue while completing a run toward the finish of the first of the two Super Overs. He had not been named in any of the three India crews that were reported a week ago for the Australia visit.

On Tuesday, a fit-again Rohit was back with the table-clinchers while pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult were refreshed in front of the end of the season games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the throw and picked it to the field. David Warner’s side made one change, acquiring Priyam Garg instead of Abhishek Sharma.
