The Sabarimala sanctuary will open on December 30 at 5 pm for the yearly celebration of ‘Makaravilakku’, authorities said on Monday.
According to an assertion from the Travancore Devasom Board (TDB), pioneers will be permitted passage to the sanctuary from the morning of December 31, 2020, till January 19, 2021. The sanctuary will be shut on January 20.
The virtual line reserving for the journey should be possible online from the official site of the sanctuary from December 28, it said.
Section to the sanctuary will be restricted to just 5,000 pioneers for every day.
Considering the continuous pandemic, a Covid-negative endorsement, taken within 48 hours of the journey, will be obligatory for Ayyappa enthusiasts visiting from December 31, the TDB said.
“The individuals who don’t have a Covid test negative declaration won’t be permitted section into Sabarimala. There would be no Covid-19 testing office at Nilakkal,” it further said.
Makaravilakku is a 41-day long yearly puja celebration celebrated at the hallowed place of Sabarimala.
